Reports coming out of Chennai suggest that Akshay Kumar may has trumped Rajinikanth, at least when it comes to the remuneration of Robot 2.0. Shankar’s film has been made on a mammoth budget of 350-400 crores, but reports of Akshay Kumar charging Rs 2 crore per day for the shoot of the film just seem a lot. When the final figure of Akshay Kumar’s remuneration is tallied, it reportedly exceeds the fees of Rajinikanth. This feat has never been achieved before, Rajinikanth’s movies are nothing short of an event, the megastar always charges the highest fee.
Robot 2 will feature Rajinikanth as Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti the Robot again but this time the antagonist will be played by Akshay Kumar. He will play Dr Richards an ornithologist who turns into a crow as a result of a wrong experiment. Robot 2.0 is set to release on Diwali 2017, clashing with Aamir Khan’s home production Secret Superstar.
